Cliffs of Moher

I went to see.

I went to see what I’ve never seen.

But when I saw, I couldn’t see.

I only saw in front of me.

I tried to see beyond the screen.

But when I looked there was no green.

I tried to see the distant sea.

The sea I saw, it was no sea.

It was just the fog in front of me.

I went to see.

I went to see, but couldn’t see.

I couldn’t see the scenery.

I could only see the scene of me.

The scene of me, a raging sea.

It’s not a dream, it’s not serene.

I’ve never seen a sea so mean

So close to touch, this hazy gleam

A fog and sea, it’s nature’s steam.

I went to see.

But couldn’t see.

I went to sea.

The sea was me.
